My work is informed by my sense of place. I am interested in how, in my passage through the built environment, my course is steered by forces inscribed in the landscape. I consider the mutability of my personal agency as I participate in the flow of ideas, agendas, and subjectivities. Certain dynamics are plain and apparent, while others are fortified, subterranean, or are otherwise closed off from view.
In my most recent body of work, I investigate the visibility of these relationships through the deployment of a functionalist, kit-of-parts architecture. With the mobility of a roving carnival, these forms are situated in various configurations and settings. Through these arrangements, I question the capacity of design to rewrite spaces, to amend the narratives that they contain.
